How do you celebrate ten years in the business of making people feel beautiful? For Naomi Martinez, the answer is to throw a spectacular anniversary party full of glitz, glamour, and giving.
Martinez, owner of the Naomi Martinez Studio & Spa in Hartford, teamed up with event planner extraordinaire Stephanie F. Carmody, of Trés Chic Events, to design an event that would dazzle and delight clients and colleagues alike. On Dec. 10, 2014, guests arrived at the Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill Estate in Middletown and walked into a full beauty experience. Models wearing the latest wedding fashions, provided byMariella Creations of Rocky Hill, stood stoically on pedestals as guests dined on gourmet treats fromRiverhouse Catering. Photo booth fun was provided byEpic Filmmakers, live music by Elan Artists and Correlation Productions, and stunning floral decor and design by Dragonfly Event, Shindig LIghting and Coral Pheasant.
The real action, however, was taking place in what the hostesses' called "The Experience Room." Guests were invited to take part in mini-facials using Seacret skincare products, makeovers from Stila, jewelry tattoos, a Lash Bar, and a decadent candy table featuring gourmet sweets from The Candy Brigade. Champagne truffles? Yes, please!
And, since this is the season of giving, much of the evening was devoted to supporting the American Cancer Society. Among the honored guests for the evening were five women who have battled or are currently battling cancer. These five survivors received full head-to-toe makeovers, with clothing provided by Mariella Creations. Additionally, guests were asked to donate $10 at the door, with the funds going to American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Look Good...Feel Better programs.
